Go Corvallis - Current Progress

Phase One is Complete!
On October 2, 2004 the Corvallis School District and the CCEC Foundation held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open phase 1 of the CCEC Project. This exciting day was the grand opening of the brand new soccer fields, the community park and the new playground. The new park was named "Big Blue Park" by then 4th grader Riley Nagel. Mrs. Reinke's 3rd grade class officially named the playground "Blue Devil Kingdom". The retail cost value of Phase 1 was well over $300,000, but due to the hard work of many volunteers, and the in-kind donations of several businesses, this phase was completed for only $75,000!

Phase Two is Complete! On May 3rd, 2006 a ground breaking ceremony was held to officially break ground on Phase 2 of the CCEC Project! Phase 2 includes the following:

  • Excavation and all earth work for the entire football field and track stadium.
  • An all weather track.
  • Completion of the football field.
  • Underground sprinklers for the entire complex.
  • New lighting, score board, handicapped access, and increased seating.

In order to break ground 11 members of the community secured a note with First Security Bank for $150,000.  This allowed the excavation to happen, the football field to go in, and served to be the catalyst to find the remaining money necessary to complete the project.

CCEC Complex is Complete! With the community's help the CCEC has completed the football field and track facility. The first track meet was held in Spring of 2009.  The only remaining obligation is the loan. The outstanding balance is approximately $84,000. So all of the current and future fundraisers that the CCEC is sponsoring is to pay off this current note. Once that is completed, the CCEC will look to better the Corvallis Community with other similar projects. The CCEC is committed to providing a better place for our children and all the people of the Bitterroot Valley!
